Why it matters

What's really inside your chimney?

Most homeowners have never seen the inside of their flue. We have — thousands of times. Creosote glaze that ignites at 2,000 degrees. Cracked flue tiles quietly venting into attic spaces. Bird nests above the damper. A chimney fire doesn't announce itself in advance; the inspection is the announcement.

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 211) recommends every chimney be inspected annually and swept as needed. If yours hasn't been looked at since you bought the home, this is the visit that tells you exactly where you stand — with photos, not opinions.

When to book

  • You smell smoke or odor in the room (or upstairs) when burning
  • You're buying or selling a home (ask about our $199 home-sale inspection)
  • You hear or suspect animals in the flue
  • Smoke rolls into the room instead of drawing up

Frequently asked

Chimney sweep & inspection questions.

Straight answers before the visit — and a written quote before any repair work.

How much does a chimney sweep cost in Dallas–Fort Worth?+

Our Level 1 chimney sweep and camera-assisted inspection is a flat $199 in the DFW metro. No surprise add-ons — if repairs are needed, you get a written quote before any additional work.

How often should a chimney be swept?+

NFPA 211 recommends an annual inspection, with sweeping as needed. Burn wood weekly in season? Sweep annually. Occasional burner? The inspection tells us whether sweeping is actually necessary — we won't sell you a sweep you don't need.

How long does it take?+

Most sweep-and-inspection visits take 45–90 minutes. Gas log or damper complications can add time; we tell you before we proceed.

Will it make a mess in my home?+

No. Drop cloths, hearth containment, and HEPA vacuum collection are standard on every visit. Leaving your home cleaner than we found it is the job.

What is a Level 1 inspection?+

A visual examination of readily accessible portions of the chimney and flue — verified with a camera so you can see the condition yourself. If we find damage suggesting deeper issues, we'll explain whether a Level 2 (full video scan, typically for home sales or after a chimney fire) makes sense.

Do you inspect gas fireplace chimneys too?+

Yes. Gas systems produce corrosive condensate and can suffer blocked or deteriorated flues. Our gas fireplace inspection & cleaning is also $199 — see gas fireplace services →

Is your work guaranteed?+

Yes — 1-year workmanship warranty on labor, and we assist with any manufacturer claims on parts we install.
